Clearing the fog in fog architecture or distributed computing as an loT enabler

Probably the most important aspect of the Internet of Things is that it pushes distributed computing ideas from the cloud to the edge. Depending on how critical is the data being streamed from the sensors, questions of availability, performance, redundancy need to be addressed. After introducing the concept and guiding you through an implementation I will do a live demo of a fog architecture using edge gateways built from off shelf hardware components.

If we have enough hardware we can split in groups and everyone will have an hands on session on building IoT gateways for fog architectures.
