Johanna Rolland

Née à Nantes le 11 mai 1979, elle est l’ainée de trois filles issues de l’union d’une mère enseignante et d’un père employé de banque et syndicaliste.

Après une scolarité secondaire au Lycée des Bourdonnières à Nantes où elle obtient un Bac scientifique, elle intègre une prépa littéraire au Lycée Guist’hau. Elle poursuit ses études à l’Institut d’études Politiques de Lille dont elle est diplômée en 2001 avant d’obtenir le Master « développement local de la ville » de l’Université de Grenoble.

Parallèlement, elle s’investit dans le secteur associatif où elle entraine une équipe de jeunes basketteurs. Puis elle s’engage dans des projets de coopération internationale en Bosnie Herzégovine et en Afrique du Sud.

En 2003, elle est recrutée par la ville du Creusot (Saône et Loire) pour organiser et mettre en place les instances de démocratie participative. Puis elle prend la responsabilité du service politique de la ville pour mener des actions au cœur des quartiers populaires de cette cité ouvrière.

Johanna Rolland revient à Nantes, son port d’attache en 2004, où elle obtient le concours d’attachée territoriale et devient attachée parlementaire de Jean-Marc Ayrault.
Elle s’installe avec son mari, professeur des écoles, dans le quartier Zola. Ils ont deux enfants.

« Ne pas se satisfaire du monde tel qu’il est » est très tôt le leitmotiv de son engagement. Elle adhère au Parti socialiste en 2004 où elle assume depuis des responsabilités départementales pour apporter sa part aux combats de la gauche. Johanna Rolland rejoint en 2008 la liste conduite par Jean-Marc Ayrault, et devient Adjointe au Maire chargée de la jeunesse et de l’éducation. Elle pilote par exemple la création d’un service public de la réussite éducative et en 2011 elle est élue conseillère générale du 11e
Dervallières-Zola succédant ainsi à Patrick Mareschal.

Puis en 2012, elle devient Première Adjointe de Patrick Rimbert, devenu Maire de Nantes. Elle conserve ses délégations initiales tout en prenant en charge les grands projets urbains et la politique de la ville, à Nantes et à la communauté urbaine, dont elle est Vice-Présidente. A ce titre elle travaille sur le Grand Projet de ville Malakoff ou le Grand Projet Global Bellevue en s’attachant à associer les habitants aux décisions qu’elles soient stratégiques ou du quotidien. Par ailleurs, elle pilote le développement du quartier de la création sur l’île de Nantes.

Depuis 2012, Johanna Rolland est membre du Conseil National du Parti Socialiste.

Born in Nantes on May 11th 1979, she is the elder of a family of three girls, from the union of a teacher mother and a bank employee and syndicalist father.

After a secondary education at the Lycée des Bourdonnières in Nantes, she obtained a scientific Baccalaureate and integrated the literary preparatory class at Lycée Guist’hau. She continued her studies at the Institut d’Études Politiques of Lille where she graduated in 2001 before obtaining the Master in « development of the local city » at the University of Grenoble.

In parallel, she invested herself to the associative world where she trained a team of young basketball players. Then, she committed herself to international cooperation projects in Bosnia Herzegovina and in South Africa.

In 2003, she was hired by the city of Creusot (Saône and Loire) to organize and set up the participative democracy instances. Then she took care of the responsibility of the political service of the city to lead actions in the heart of the working-class districts of the company town.

Johanna Rolland came back to Nantes in 2004, her home base, where she obtained the competition exam of territorial assistant and became Parliamentary Attaché for Jean-Marc Ayrault.
She settled in the Zola neighborhood with her husband, school teacher, and their two kids.

« To not be satisfied of the world how it is now » has been her leitmotive for long. She joined the Socialist Party in 2004 where she had been undertaking departmental responsibilities to bring her share to the Left party combat. Johanna Rolland joined in 2008 the list conducted by Jean-Marc Ayrault, and became Deputy Mayor in charge of youth and education. She navigated for example the creation of a public service of the educative success and in 2011 was elected general advisor of the 11th district Dervallières-Zola succeeding Patrick Mareschal.

Then in 2012, she became First Deputy of Patrick Rimbert, the mayor of Nantes at the time. She keept her initial delegations while taking care of big urban and political projects for the city, in Nantes and in the urban community of which she was Vice-President. With this title she worked on the Big Project of the city of Malakoff or the Big Global Project of Bellevue by associating the inhabitants to the decisions whether they were strategic or of the daily life. Furthermore, she navigated the development of the creation district on Nantes’ Island.

Since 2012, Johanna Rolland has been a member of the National Committee of the Socialist Party.
